Safety and preparation

  • The operating cords run under tension through the side guides and do not hang loose. Nevertheless, keep cords out of the reach of children and do not place beds, cots or other furniture close to the window.
  • Install the product only in accordance with these instructions. We are not responsible for damage or defects resulting from failure to follow the installation and operating instructions, or from following them incorrectly.
  • Only install at a temperature between 15 °C and 35 °C.
  • You do not need any tools. A spirit level and a pencil help with alignment; a flat-head screwdriver is handy for removal.

Step by step

Installation in 21 steps

  1. Make the glass completely grease-free and dry

Clean the entire adhesive surface with the degreasing wipe supplied. This is crucial for the adhesion of the side guides. Only install at a temperature between 15 °C and 35 °C.

  2. Check the L and R markings

The profiles are marked “L” for left and “R” for right, always seen from inside the window. The correct orientation is essential for the system to work properly.

  3. Slide the mounting clips into the side guides

Slide the plastic mounting clips into the slots of the side guides. They should slide into place without force and sit completely flat.

  4. Click the top end into place

Click the top end of the pleated blind into the mounting clip you placed earlier. Use the correct end (L or R); the profile clicks audibly into place.

  5. Repeat this at the bottom

First slide the mounting clip into the side guide, then click the bottom end into the profile.

  6. Determine and mark the position

Determine where the side guides will go and lightly mark that position with a pencil. Use a spirit level for straight alignment.

  7. Peel back a small piece of film

Start at the top and peel back a few centimetres of the protective film. Do not touch the adhesive layer, so that adhesion remains optimal.

  8. Position the top end of the side guide

Place the top end of the side guide with adhesive strip neatly against the top of the glazing bead, at the marked position.

  9. Remove the film gradually

Pull the film further down step by step, each time pressing the exposed part of the side guide firmly against the glass.

  10. Attach the side guide all the way down

Continue to the bottom of the window. Press evenly and firmly all along for a strong, uniform bond.

  11. Repeat everything on the right-hand side

Position the right-hand side guide in the same way, remove the film step by step and press the side guide firmly along its entire length.

  12. Check the orientation again

The “L” and “R” markings on the side guides indicate which side of the window each guide belongs on. Check this before you continue.

  13. Slide the mounting clips into the recesses

Carefully slide the plastic mounting clips into the recesses of the side guides. They click audibly into place and sit neatly aligned.

  14. Check that everything is secure

Check that the side guides are correctly oriented and that the clips are firmly in place.

  15. Fit the blind profile

Place the blind profile in the side guide and secure it with the end stops at the top and bottom. Check that the pull cord runs straight through the side guides, without twists or obstructions. The blind must be able to move smoothly and evenly.

  16. Slide the top profile into the mounting clip

Slide the top profile with pull cord and clip into the mounting clip at the top of the side guide. Keep the pull cord at the front of the profile and guide it carefully into the side guide while you push the clip into place.

  17. Check the pull cord and click the bottom profile into place

The pull cord runs straight through the side guides on both sides, without twists, and the tension is evenly distributed. Then press the bottom profile firmly into the mounting clip until you hear a click.

  18. Place the blind in the side guides

Hold the blind with both hands and carefully move it into position, with the top profile exactly aligned with the side guides.

  19. Cut the binding thread

Carefully cut the binding thread or cable tie that held the pleated blind folded together, so that the fabric can unfold completely.

  20. Click the profile into place at the top

Click the profile firmly into the mounting clips on the inside of the side guides and press until you hear a distinct click.

  21. Repeat that at the bottom

Also press firmly at the bottom until you hear a distinct click. This means the profile is correctly secured.

Important after installation

The first 24 hours

Do not operate for the first 24 hours

Do not use the blind for the first 24 hours. This gives the adhesive strip time to bond fully.

Small air bubbles are normal

Small air pockets under the adhesive strips can occur and do not affect how it works.

Keep cords out of the reach of children

The operating cords run under tension through the side guides and do not hang loose. Nevertheless, keep cords out of the reach of children, do not place beds or other furniture close to the window and install the product only in accordance with these instructions.

Removing

Removal in 12 steps

Are you moving house or do you want to move the pleated blind? Work calmly and in this order, and the side guide will come off the glass without damage.

  1. Start at the bottom

Start the removal at the mounting clips at the bottom of the profile.

  2. Lever the profile out of the clips

Use a flat-head screwdriver to carefully lever the profile out of the clips at the bottom.

  3. Lift the profile straight up

Pull straight upwards to avoid damaging the profile or the side guide.

  4. Repeat this at the bottom left

Do the same on the left-hand side at the bottom.

  5. Lower the profile

Gently lower the bottom profile as soon as it is free.

  6. Release the top

Also carefully lever the top profile out of the clips with a flat-head screwdriver.

  7. Remove the bottom clips

Take the bottom clips out of the side guide.

  8. Guide the pull cord to the front

Guide the pull cord to the front of the clip while you release the profile. This prevents the cord from getting stuck or twisted.

  9. Pull the top profile loose

Carefully release the top profile from the clip. The whole blind is then free and you can remove it.

  10. Tension the pull cord

The pull cord is inside the side guide. Tension it by pulling it gently downwards or towards you.

  11. Release the side guide from the adhesive strip

Pull gently on the pull cord to release the side guide. Start at the bottom and work calmly and evenly upwards, so that the side guide comes off the window without damage.

  12. Remove the adhesive strips

The pleated blind is now fully removed. Slowly pull the adhesive strips off the window and, if necessary, clean the glass with a non-abrasive product to remove any adhesive residue.

Having trouble?

Is the installation not going as described here, or are you unsure about the orientation of the side guides? Get in touch before you press the adhesive strips on for good — removing and re-sticking does not always work well.
